PTI founding chairman Imran Khan issued a strong warning on Monday against any attempts to extend the tenure of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa. He also criticized the government for not implementing the CJP-led bench’s decision on reserved seats, threatening a nationwide protest if necessary.
During a press conference, PTI leadership expressed dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court’s decision to restore the membership of three PML-N lawmakers, alleging a conspiracy to diminish the party’s representation.
Imran Khan claimed that CJP Isa and the Election Commission of Pakistan were collaborating, with support from the military. He likened the situation in Pakistan to that of Bangladesh, where the opposition was suppressed before elections.
PTI leaders reiterated their stance against any extension for the CJP and vowed to appeal the decision regarding the PML-N lawmakers. They denounced efforts to reduce PTI seats and criticized alleged interference from intelligence agencies.
