Gaza Cease-Fire Obstruction: Hamas Calls Out Netanyahu
The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for obstructing efforts to reach a cease-fire in Gaza. This comes after Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant acknowledged that Netanyahu is the one creating obstacles to a peace agreement.
In a statement, Hamas political bureau member Izzat al-Rishq accused Netanyahu of lying and prioritizing the continuation of the war over reaching a peaceful resolution. Al-Rishq highlighted Hamas’s willingness to engage in cease-fire proposals, including those from US President Joe Biden, but pointed out Netanyahu’s intransigence.
Despite international mediators urging Israel and Hamas to finalize a cease-fire and prisoner exchange deal, Netanyahu’s rejection of key aspects has hindered progress. The ongoing conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life and widespread destruction in Gaza, prompting calls for international pressure on Israel to end the aggression.
With the situation escalating, the need for a swift resolution and humanitarian aid in Gaza is more urgent than ever.
