The Nigerian Federal Government is on a mission to achieve 5,105 megawatts of electricity by the end of 2024. The Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, announced this goal during a visit to the Calabar Generation Company, a subsidiary of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) in Cross River State.

Adelabu emphasized the administration’s commitment to using power as a driver for economic growth. He highlighted the recent increase in power generation, reaching a peak of 5,105 megawatts, the highest in recent years.

He assured Nigerians of significant improvements in power supply before the end of 2024, with ongoing efforts to enhance transmission infrastructure and distribution company operations.

The visit aimed to encourage power generators to enhance their services in line with government expectations. The Cross River State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Prince Eka Williams, praised the Federal Government’s commitment and urged residents to report any vandalism of power infrastructure.
