The FBI is investigating after Donald Trump’s campaign reported a hack on its internal communications, blaming the Iranian government. Former President Trump stated that Iran had only accessed publicly available information via a hacked website. The Washington Post reported that the FBI is also looking into a hack targeting advisers to President Biden and Vice President Harris’s campaign, suspecting Iranian involvement. The investigation began in June, prior to Biden’s election, with sources revealing Iran’s alleged attempts to steal data from both campaigns. While the Harris campaign has yet to comment, Iranian officials denied involvement in the Trump campaign hack. The hackers reportedly took over a former political adviser’s account to target campaign officials, but their identities remain undisclosed.
