Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly Resumes Business After Renovation
The Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly reopened on Monday after a long recess for parliamentary premises renovation. Lawmakers criticized the state government for delays, citing budget issues and renovation as excuses.
During the reopening, Governor Louis Lobong Lojore urged legislators to address community issues and collaborate to overcome economic challenges. Speaker Charles Udwar Ukech emphasized unity among members, stating the parliament’s vision as representing all people of Eastern Equatoria State.
Legislator Zacharia Ngoletiang Naburio highlighted grassroots concerns including education, healthcare, water scarcity, and food insecurity, especially in Lopet and Kasengor payams. Angelina Quintino stressed the need for hard work and patience amidst global economic challenges.
The legislators emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and effective service delivery to address community needs and overcome economic hardships. As the assembly resumes business, they aim to work together to find solutions and improve the lives of the people of Eastern Equatoria State.
