India-Armenia relations have been on the rise, as the number of Indian citizens receiving entry visas to Armenia has significantly increased in the first seven months of 2024. According to data from the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia, 31,924 Indian nationals were issued entry visas during this period, showing a 2,109 increase from the previous year.
Furthermore, 858 Indian citizens were granted residence status in Armenia, with 159 based on education and 646 on work permits. The surge in Indian visitors to Armenia can be attributed to the legislative changes in 2022, allowing for online visa applications without restrictions for Indian citizens.
To regulate the influx of visitors, the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented a draft decision to the Armenian government in February 2024. This proposal aims to control migration flows and prevent potential issues related to illegal immigration.
With Armenia becoming an increasingly popular destination for Indian travelers, the government is taking proactive steps to manage and streamline the entry process for visitors, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all.
