Recently, hundreds of Israeli illegal settlers, including two Israeli ministers, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem to mark a Jewish event. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office released a statement condemning Ben-Gvir’s actions, stating that the setting of policy at the Temple Mount is under government jurisdiction. This incident adds to the tension surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque, a site considered the third holiest in Islam. The conflict arises from Jews also claiming the area to be the Temple Mount, where two ancient Jewish temples stood.
