In a groundbreaking move towards gender equality, Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has dedicated its Udit Nagar electrical sub-division exclusively to women employees. This joint venture between the Odisha government and Tata Power aims to promote inclusivity and equal opportunities within the organization.
A special launch event was held to celebrate this initiative, marking the transformation of the sub-division into a women-only workspace. Named ‘Team Tejaswini,’ the sub-division showcases women employees in key positions like sub-divisional officer, junior engineer, and commercial officer.
Praveen Kumar Verma, CEO of TPWODL, emphasized the company’s commitment to gender diversity and inclusivity. He stated, “By dedicating the electrical sub-division exclusively to women, we are empowering our female employees to lead and innovate, creating a more balanced workplace.”
The initiative received praise from Pallavi Nayak, Joint Commissioner of the Rourkela Municipal Corporation, who expressed optimism for Team Tejaswini to make a mark in electricity distribution across western Odisha.
