BAKU, Azerbaijan. August 12. The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attack on a school in Gaza, calling the massacre of over 100 Palestinians unjustifiable. Borrell expressed shock at the devastation caused by the Israeli strike on the Al-Tabieen school and emphasized that at least 10 schools have been targeted in recent weeks.
With more than 40,000 Palestinians already killed in Gaza since the beginning of Israel’s attacks, Borrell stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire to prevent further civilian casualties and secure the release of prisoners. The recent attack on the At-Tabi’een school in Gaza left a horrifying scene of charred and dismembered bodies, as thousands of displaced Palestinians sought refuge.
The Israeli army claimed that the school served as a headquarters for Hamas militants, justifying their airstrike. However, Borrell reiterated that there is no excuse for the killing of civilians and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to end the cycle of violence in the region.
