Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education Minister, will hold a press conference to reveal this year’s rankings
The NIRF Rankings 2024 will be made available shortly after the press conference at nirfindia.org
Today, August 12, the Ministry of Education is set to announce the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 at 3 pm. Institutions in India are ranked annually by NIRF on various criteria. Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, will disclose this year’s rankings at a press conference. The NIRF Rankings 2024 will then be available at nirfindia.org.
The rankings categories include Overall, Engineering, Pharmacy, Colleges, Medical, Law, Agriculture, Architecture, and Dentistry. Criteria for evaluation include teaching, research, graduation results, outreach, and perception, each assigned a specific weightage.
In 2023, IIT Madras, IISc Bengaluru, IIT Delhi, IISc Bengaluru, JNU, and Miranda House secured top spots in various categories. The NIRF rankings play a vital role in assessing educational institutions, despite not affecting funding or regulations.
The NIRF rankings, initiated by the Narendra Modi government in 2016, have become India’s primary university rating system, promoting accountability and excellence in higher education.
