The Niger Delta Development Commission has denied allegations of using funds meant for contractors to finance the Governorship campaigns of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State. In a statement released by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama, the agency emphasized its commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.
The NDDC clarified that it does not sponsor political parties or candidates and reiterated its focus on improving the lives of people in the Niger Delta. The agency highlighted its partnership with KPMG to enhance corporate governance and its engagement with the NDDC Advisory Committee to ensure accountability.
With a dedication to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the NDDC aims to collaborate with stakeholders to create a region that is socially stable, economically prosperous, ecologically regenerative, and politically peaceful.
