The National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom commended Moroccan security services for their crucial role in the arrest and extradition of British fugitive Alex Male, 30. Male, a wanted criminal facing charges related to drug supply, firearms possession, and money laundering, was apprehended in Morocco in January.
Male, listed as one of the NCA’s most wanted individuals, had been on the run since 2020. He appeared before Exeter Magistrates’ Court on August 8 and is set for trial at Exeter Crown Court on September 5, 2024.
The NCA’s Regional Head of Operations, David Hucker, praised the collaboration with Moroccan authorities and emphasized that fugitives will not escape justice. Tina Robinson from the Southwest Regional Organized Crime Unit also highlighted the crucial role of international partnerships in apprehending Male.
The arrest of Male serves as a testament to the commitment of law enforcement agencies in pursuing criminals across borders, ensuring that justice is served.
