Israel warns US of imminent major military attack by Iran.

Recent developments in the Middle East have raised concerns about a potential major military attack on Israel by Iran. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant expressed these fears to his American counterpart Lloyd Austin, citing intelligence reports of Iran preparing for retaliation after the assassination of a Hamas leader in Tehran.

Austin responded by deploying a guided-missile submarine to the region, along with additional warplanes and warships to support Israel’s defenses. Iranian media quoted a top commander vowing to “severely punish” Israel, raising alarms of an imminent attack.

Israeli intelligence suggests Iran may strike in the coming days, possibly ahead of talks with Hamas. There are concerns that Hezbollah might also join in, escalating the conflict beyond previous incidents.

Gallant, while visiting Israeli forces, emphasized the need for readiness against potential threats. He expressed hope for avoiding further conflict but acknowledged the need to be prepared for any scenario.

The tense situation underscores the volatile nature of relationships in the region and the ongoing threat of military escalation.
