Iran’s latest notice on compensations for downed Ukrainian plane

Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development has announced that it will expedite the payment of compensation to the legal heirs of the individuals who lost their lives in the Ukrainian Boeing 737 plane accident near Tehran on January 8, 2020. The compensation amount, determined by the government, will be provided to all victims regardless of nationality, gender, or age.

Family members of the deceased can inquire about the compensation by contacting the Ministry at 0098-21-88384211 or 0098-21-88384212 during office hours. Those who have not yet received the payments are advised to reach out via email at PS752@MRUD.IR.

The tragic incident occurred in the aftermath of heightened tensions between Iran and the US, stemming from a US attack on Iranian military personnel. The Iranian government has taken responsibility for the accidental downing of the plane, attributing it to human error.
