Reports from Hamas’s armed wing reveal the death of an Israeli hostage by his guard, with two women captives sustaining serious injuries in separate incidents in Gaza. The spokesperson for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obaida, stated that a committee had been established to investigate the events, emphasizing that efforts are being made to save the lives of the women.
Blaming Israel for the resulting consequences, Abu Obaida condemned the “massacres” and their impact on Zionist prisoners. This marks the first time the Qassam Brigades publicly acknowledged the killing of a hostage by one of their guards. Previous incidents were attributed to Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.
Israeli authorities have yet to confirm or deny the claims, stating ongoing investigations. The development follows an Israeli airstrike on a Gaza school during dawn prayers, claiming over 100 lives, mostly children and elderly individuals.
