Gallant Criticizes Netanyahu’s ‘Absolute Victory’, Warns Against Attacking Lebanon

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claims of “absolute victory” and expressed his disapproval of attacking Lebanon, calling it a risky gamble. At a meeting of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Gallant emphasized the importance of caution in military decisions.

Despite previously recommending an attack on Lebanon, Gallant now opposes such action due to the uncertain consequences. He also advocated for negotiations with Hamas to secure the release of captives, proposing a multi-stage approach if necessary.

In preparation for potential retaliation from Hezbollah and Iran following recent assassinations, Israel has been strengthening its defenses. Gallant emphasized the need to protect Israeli citizens by enhancing both defensive capabilities and offensive strategies.

With tensions rising in the region, Gallant remains vigilant and committed to safeguarding his country against potential threats. He highlighted the importance of proactive defense to ensure the safety of the State of Israel.
