Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Drops Bombshell: Former ISI Chief Faiz Hameed Involved in Political Maneuvering
In a shocking revelation, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that Former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed was actively involved in political activities even after his retirement. Asif stated that Faiz Hameed had been interfering in politics since 2013 and had expressed his desire to become the Army Chief during a meeting they had.
Furthermore, Asif alleged that Faiz Hameed and former Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa were closely connected and had been hatching conspiracies since 2013. The Defence Minister also disclosed that Faiz Hameed had been sidelined by Bajwa in the final days of his tenure.
Earlier in the day, Faiz Hameed was taken into military custody and court-martial proceedings have been initiated against him. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the Pakistan Army had launched a detailed inquiry following complaints in the Top City Case and appropriate disciplinary action was taken against the retired Lt Gen.
