In a groundbreaking development, Global Space and Technology Company has obtained a licence from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to establish an Unmanned Technology Centre in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) in Oman. This centre is poised to become a focal point for drone technology and unmanned systems, offering a wide array of services ranging from training to specialized equipment supply and maintenance.

Catering to various sectors including government, security, military, commercial businesses, and hobbyists, the centre’s key offerings include comprehensive training programs in drone operations, aerial photography, software technologies, and GIS analysis. Participants will also have the opportunity to acquire licenses to operate drones, paving the way for them to become certified drone pilots.

Furthermore, the centre will host advanced workshops for specialists, providing in-depth sessions on drone design and engineering to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the UAV industry.

Founder and CEO of Global Space and Technology Company, Bahiya Hilal Sultan al Shuaibi expressed her excitement about the licence, highlighting that the Unmanned Technology Centre represents a significant step towards enhancing the unmanned technology sector in Oman. This initiative aligns with global trends and addresses the local and regional market needs effectively.

The Unmanned Technology Centre will be a part of ‘ZONE 88,’ a larger project by Global Space and Technology Company aimed at advancing space sciences and cutting-edge technologies to attract global investments and build a sustainable knowledge economy in the region.
