US hypocrisy enables Israel’s crimes, jeopardizes peace: Iran president

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed concern over the double standard policies of the US and European countries, which he believes have emboldened the Israeli regime to commit heinous crimes in Gaza and beyond. In a recent phone call with the President of the European Council, he highlighted the escalating threats posed by Israel to regional and international peace.

Following the brutal attack on a school in Gaza, which claimed the lives of over 100 civilians, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of promoting a multipolar world system. He criticized US pressure on countries like Iran, stressing the need for mutual trust and respect in international dealings.

Regarding the nuclear agreement, Pezeshkian emphasized the need for both sides to fulfill their obligations and build confidence for fruitful discussions. Despite Iran’s criticism of the lack of initiative from the US and European countries, he remains hopeful for the revival of the JCPOA.

President of the European Council, Charles Michel, expressed readiness to enhance relations with Iran and called for humanitarian rights to be observed in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of ceasing Israeli attacks, establishing a ceasefire, providing aid to Gaza, and recognizing an independent Palestinian state.
