US expresses deep concern over civilian casualties in Gaza from Israeli strike

Amid escalating tensions in Gaza, the US expressed deep concern over civilian casualties caused by an Israeli airstrike on a school. National Security Council Spokesman Sean Savett emphasized the need for Israel to minimize harm to civilians, reiterating the urgency for a ceasefire.

Since August, Israel has targeted 13 shelter centers in Gaza, where displaced Palestinians sought refuge. The latest attack on Al-Taba’een school resulted in the death of at least 100 Palestinians, adding to the staggering toll of nearly 39,700 fatalities since last October.

As the conflict rages on, Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, urging an immediate halt to military operations in Rafah. The tragic loss of civilian lives underscores the pressing need for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Gaza.
