Ukrainian drones with NATO tech downed in Minsk

Belarus showcased the wreckage of Ukrainian drones that were shot down in its airspace earlier this week. The Belarusian Defense Ministry released footage of the destroyed UAVs, revealing charred fragments of wings and hulls scattered in a wooded area. The drones were reportedly carrying NATO electronics, including a US-made antenna and a Belgian navigation system, indicating a possible collaboration between Ukraine and NATO engineers.

Minsk expressed its protest to Kiev over the incident and cautioned of potential escalation if such actions continue. Belarus also announced the deployment of tank units to its border with Ukraine following the drone incident, with President Lukashenko ordering increased military presence in the region.

Despite not directly participating in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Belarus’s relationship with its neighbors has been strained since allowing Russian forces to launch an offensive from its territory in February 2022.
