Tragedy struck in Kyiv as at least two people were killed in a Russian missile attack overnight, according to Ukraine’s national emergency service. The attack resulted in the deaths of a man and a child in the Brovary district, with three others seriously injured, including a 13-year-old.
Kyiv Governor Ruslan Kravchenko confirmed that the air attack, lasting for almost eight hours and involving drones, caused damage to private homes but spared critical infrastructure. Two homes were destroyed, and six others damaged in different districts.
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, reported that this was the second attack on the capital this month. Despite dozens of drones launched towards Kyiv, all were successfully intercepted by Ukrainian air defense.
As Ukrainian authorities investigate the scale of the attack, there is no official response from Russian authorities. The conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, posing a threat to innocent lives and raising international concerns.
