Ukraine Elite Brigade Possibly in Kursk Incursion

The 80th Air Assault Brigade, known for its superior equipment and speed, is believed to be part of Ukraine’s current incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. Images surfacing on social media showcase a variety of vehicles, including tanks and armored personnel carriers, suggesting the brigade’s involvement. The brigade is the only one in Ukraine operating a mix of Soviet and American vehicles. Another image allegedly shows German-provided Marder vehicles under attack, unique to the 80th and 82nd Air Assault Brigades. While these claims have yet to be confirmed, Germany has voiced support for Ukraine’s use of donated equipment in the operation.

Speculation surrounds Ukraine’s motives for the incursion, with experts guessing at more strategic goals beyond border raids. The offensive involves multiple brigades and may signify a bid to hold Russian territory for negotiation. Some believe it could be a diversion tactic to draw Russian troops away from key areas. Unconfirmed reports suggest Ukrainian forces seized a gas metering station in the Kursk region. As the operation continues, Ukraine shows no signs of backing down.
