Trump campaign claims Iranian group hacked it

It has been revealed that former President Donald Trump’s campaign was hacked by an Iranian group in June, coinciding with the time of President Trump’s selection of a Vice Presidential nominee. The hack, reported by Politico, involved the leaking of internal documents from the Trump campaign, including research papers on potential running mates.

According to a Microsoft report, an Iranian group connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attempted to spear-phish a high-ranking official from a presidential campaign. The FBI is aware of the media reports but has not provided further comments.

The Iranian government denies any involvement in interfering in the US presidential election. The anonymous emailer who leaked the documents warned against questioning the source of the leak.

This incident raises concerns about foreign interference in US elections and the dissemination of sensitive information. It is crucial to safeguard against cyber threats to protect the integrity of the democratic process.
