A tragic plane crash in Vinhead, Brazil resulted in the deaths of 58 passengers and 4 crew members. The bodies of the victims, including 34 men and 25 women, were recovered from the wreckage and sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Sao Paulo for identification and handover to their families.
The grieving families, totaling 38, were provided accommodation in a hotel in central Sao Paulo where they were offered psychological support. The Aeronautical Accidents department of the Brazilian Air Force released images of the two black boxes recovered from the plane: the Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder.
Investigations into the crash revealed that the flight had proceeded normally for 1 hour and 35 minutes before suddenly plummeting 4,000 meters in just 1 minute and disappearing from radar. The data from the black boxes is expected to shed light on the cause of the tragic incident.
