Amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group denied Israeli claims regarding the presence of gunmen inside a Gaza school where over 100 displaced civilians were killed in an airstrike. The attack on the Al-Taba’een School during Fajr prayers resulted in at least 100 fatalities and numerous injuries, according to health authorities.
The Israeli army stated that the attack targeted gunmen from Hamas and Islamic Jihad inside the school compound, a claim promptly refuted by the Palestinian group. They denounced the allegations as false, accusing the enemy of spreading lies to avoid accountability for their actions.
Hamas also condemned the Israeli claims as an attempt to justify a heinous crime. The Israeli offensive in Gaza has targeted civilian facilities, including hospitals and schools, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
The Gaza government media office reported that numerous centers housing displaced people, including schools, have been attacked by Israel. The conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life and prompted accusations of genocide against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
