Canadian singer Céline Dion recently expressed her disapproval of Donald Trump using her iconic song “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic at his Montana rally. Dion’s management team and Sony Music released a statement on Instagram, explicitly rejecting the campaign’s use of the song.
Social media users quickly pointed out the irony of Trump using a song about a sinking ship, comparing it to his struggling campaign. Even elected leaders like Rep. Ted Lieu mocked Trump’s rally playlist, highlighting the blunder.
Despite trailing in battleground states against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, Trump’s campaign remains afloat, according to recent polls. Notably, other musicians like Rihanna, Elton John, and Adele have also spoken out against Trump for using their music without authorization at his events.
