Kim Moon-soo, a candidate for the Minister of Employment and Labor, has been revealed to have proposed zero bills related to employment and labor during his tenure as a 15th-17th National Assembly member. Despite President Yoon Suk-yeol highlighting his active legislative activity in those areas, his lack of legislative achievements raises concerns.
Analysis of the National Assembly’s legislative information system by Kim Tae-sun, a member of the Democratic Party, shows that Kim Moon-soo proposed 15 bills during his 10-year term from 1996 to 2006, none of which were related to employment, labor, or the environment. This includes bills related to North Korean defectors and human rights, but no direct initiatives in the labor field.
Kim’s legislative activities mostly focused on addressing unemployment crises, but his lack of engagement with labor-related issues raises doubts about his suitability for the position. As Kim Tae-sun vows to thoroughly examine his conservative and anti-labor stance, concerns about Moon-soo’s qualifications for the role persist.
