World condemns Gaza school strike with 100+ casualties

Tragedy struck in Gaza City as more than 100 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced people. The strikes hit during dawn prayers at the al-Tabeen school in the Daraj neighbourhood, causing widespread casualties. Medics faced challenges in reaching all the bodies, making the death toll one of the largest from a single strike in the ongoing conflict.

Gaza’s Civil Defence reported that at least 6,000 Palestinians were seeking refuge at the school when it was hit by three missiles. The Israeli military claimed the strike targeted a Hamas command centre, but the attack was condemned by both Hamas and Fatah as a “dangerous escalation” and a “horrific crime”.

As the conflict continues, Israel has carried out further strikes in different parts of the Gaza Strip, including the Nuseirat camp. The incident at the al-Tabeen school highlights the devastating impact of the ongoing war on the Palestinian territory.
