Vegas police rush to protect hospital during Biden health scare

Last month, Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to secure the perimeter of a hospital on standby to treat President Joe Biden for an undisclosed medical issue. Details were scarce, but it was later revealed that Biden had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Amidst canceled speaking engagements and radio transmissions, Biden was not admitted to the hospital but was taken directly to the airport, boarding Air Force One to Delaware.

The LVMPD mobilized quickly, with UMC staff preparing for the president’s potential arrival. Despite the uncertainty, officials commended the handling of the incident.

Days later, Biden tested positive for COVID-19, leading to his decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his replacement, with Harris securing the Democratic nomination and selecting Tim Walz as her running mate.

As the political landscape shifts, all eyes are on Harris as she prepares for her upcoming debate against former President Donald Trump on September 10.
