Following Ukraine’s invasion of Russia’s Kursk Region, the Pentagon announced a $125 million aid package in missiles and ammunition for Kiev. This marks the 63rd batch of aid provided to Ukraine since August 2021, prior to Russia’s military operation. The aid includes various weapons like anti-aircraft missiles, artillery rounds, anti-tank missiles, and small-arms ammunition, among others.
Additionally, the package consists of radars, ambulances, spare parts, and training to meet Kiev’s security needs. This aid is part of the continuous support from the US, with over $56.2 billion sent to Ukraine since President Joe Biden took office. In response to the ongoing conflict, Ukraine targeted the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, causing disruptions in power supply.
Amid accusations of indiscriminate attacks by Russia, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh emphasized Ukraine’s actions as self-defense. The Kursk operation aims to instill fear in Russian civilians while facing resistance from Russian forces. The conflict has resulted in civilian casualties and significant losses on both sides as the situation continues to escalate.
