As Tisha B’Av approaches, a survey by N12 “Ulpan Shishi” conducted by Meno Geva unveils concerning insights into civil conflict perceptions in Israel. The data collected from 510 individuals aged 18 and over reveals that 46% are worried about the possibility of civil war, while 48% are not, with 6% undecided.
The survey also delved into how public figures are viewed in terms of promoting division or unity in society. Public Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir tops the list of divisive figures, followed by Miri Regev, Bezalel Smotrich, and Tali Gotliv. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is regarded as divisive by 62% of respondents, with even 30% of his supporters seeing him as a divider.
Other divisive figures
Figureheads like Dudi Amsalem, Orit Strook, and Avigdor Lieberman are also seen as divisive by a significant portion of the public. On the flip side, President Isaac Herzog and Naftali Bennett stand out as unifying figures.
It’s clear that perceptions of public figures play a significant role in shaping societal unity or division, particularly in such a volatile time ahead of Tisha B’Av.
