Revolutionizing Passport Printing in Pakistan
Pakistan authorities have finally taken a significant step towards solving the long-standing issue of delayed passport printing. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has decided to invest in new technology by purchasing 20 laminators and printers, along with five ARPM and two E-passport printers. This strategic move will boost the daily passport printing capacity from 22,000 to 55,000, allowing for quicker processing of passport applications.
Furthermore, the passport authority has also stocked up on lamination papers and plans to clear the existing backlog by the end of September. The government is committed to streamlining the passport issuance process in response to the growing demand. Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazir Tarar, has reassured the public that steps are being taken to address the delays and increase the daily issuance of passports to 60,000 by September.
With these new developments, Pakistan is set to revolutionize its passport printing system and provide a more efficient service to its citizens.
