Israeli Military Strikes Hamas Military Facility in Gaza City
On August 10, 2024, the Israeli Air Force targeted a school in Gaza City that was being used by around 20 Hamas and Palestine Islamic Jihad fighters, including senior commanders. The Israeli military spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, stated that the compound and mosque within it were active military facilities.
Contradicting casualty figures reported by Hamas, Shoshani emphasized that the IDF’s information did not align with the numbers provided by Hamas-run media. Gaza civil defense had claimed that the school was hit by three Israeli missiles during dawn prayers, resulting in the deaths of approximately 100 people.
