The death toll from an Israeli strike on a school in Gaza City has risen to between 90 to 100, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency. The school was housing displaced Palestinians, and the incident was described as “a horrific massacre” with bodies catching fire.

The war in Gaza began with Hamas’s October 7 attack, resulting in the deaths of 1,198 people, mostly civilians. Israel’s retaliatory military campaign in Gaza has killed at least 39,699 people.
