Iran Hopes Response to Haniyeh Killing Will Not Harm Potential Gaza Ceasefire – UN Mission
Sputnik International
Last week, Iran responded to Israel’s assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Iran’s statement said their priority is a lasting ceasefire in Gaza. Although they maintain the right to self-defense, they hope their response won’t hinder the potential ceasefire agreement.
This development comes after Hamas reported Haniyeh’s killing in Tehran, prompting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to warn of a strong retaliation.
