Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that air defense forces had destroyed several targets launched from Ukraine, possibly drones, over Belarusian territory. The incident occurred in the eastern part of the country, prompting the air defense forces to be on high alert for interception.
Lukashenko instructed the Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces to take necessary steps to ensure Belarus’s security. He expressed confusion over Ukraine’s actions and warned that provocations would not be tolerated.
Some objects also crossed into Russia and were intercepted by Russian air defense systems. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the allegations.
While the situation remains tense, Lukashenko emphasized the need for dialogue and resolution of the issue to prevent further escalation.
