Kamala Harris Leading in Key Battleground States Against Trump
Recent polls show Kamala Harris ahead of Donald Trump in key states that often determine the winner of the presidential election, according to The New York Times. Surveys conducted this week in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania indicate a significant boost in support for the Democratic Party after President Joe Biden declined to seek re-election.
On July 21, President Biden announced his withdrawal from the race, endorsing Vice President Harris as the Democratic candidate for the November 5, 2024 election. All 50 state Democratic Party leaders have pledged their support for Harris as the new presidential candidate.
Harris raised $100 million for her campaign in just one day on July 23. Trump’s campaign staff filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission on July 24, alleging a violation in the transfer of $96 million in campaign funds from Biden to Harris.
Harris secured enough delegate votes on August 2 to officially become the Democratic nominee for president. Her momentum continues to grow as she solidifies her position in the race.
