Mysterious Sound Heard in Kerala’s Landslide-Hit Wayanad District

Residents in the Edakkal area of Wayanad, Kerala, reported hearing a strange noise coming from beneath the earth, causing panic among the locals. The sound, accompanied by a jerking sensation, prompted authorities to launch an investigation.

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) is examining seismic records and conducting local reconnaissance to determine the source of the mysterious noise. So far, there have been no indications of any seismic movements.

According to a panchayat ward member, the sound was heard around 10:15 am, leading to the declaration of a holiday for schools in the affected area. The authorities are working to ensure the safety of the residents and determine the cause of the unsettling phenomenon.
