Recent reports from Russia’s Defense Ministry have revealed that Kiev has lost nearly 1,000 soldiers and over 100 armored vehicles in the past few days of conflict. Russian forces have been inflicting heavy casualties on Ukrainian troops that crossed the border into the Kursk Region. The Defense Ministry in Moscow provided an estimate of the casualties suffered by Kiev in the incursion.
According to the ministry, Ukraine lost up to 945 soldiers and 102 armored vehicles, including tanks and armored personnel carriers. Russian airstrikes have also destroyed several Ukrainian military vehicles and personnel carriers. The operation to repel and destroy Ukraine’s forces in the region continues, aided by airstrikes and artillery fire.
The conflict escalated when Ukrainian forces launched a cross-border incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region. Russian President Vladimir Putin described it as a large-scale provocation, accusing Kiev of indiscriminate strikes on civilians. The Russian military managed to halt Ukraine’s incursion, inflicting heavy losses on their forces.
