This decision came after accusations exchanged between Maduro and X owner Elon Musk regarding the country’s disputed presidential election on July 28.
Maduro accused Musk of violating the rules of the social network and inciting hatred, while also claiming that X was being used by his opponents to create political unrest. The Venezuelan president signed a resolution proposed by the National Telecommunications Commission to ban X from circulation, giving the platform time to present its documentation.
Musk, on the other hand, used X to accuse Maduro of orchestrating electoral fraud and criticize his leadership. This ongoing feud culminated in Maduro declaring, “X out for 10 days! Elon Musk out!”
