In a recent social media post, Kanaani criticized Islamic countries and Muslim nations for not supporting the oppressed people of Palestine and Gaza. He argued that if they had fulfilled their Islamic, humanitarian, and legal duties, the Palestinian citizens would not have been slaughtered by the Israeli forces.
Japan recently excluded the Israeli ambassador from the annual atomic bombing ceremony in Nagasaki as a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. This move led to a boycott by the ambassadors of the US, G-7 countries, and other Western nations.
The US famously dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, causing massive devastation and loss of life. Israel’s campaign in Gaza has similarly caused widespread destruction, targeting schools and hospitals and resulting in thousands of deaths, mostly women and children.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza continues to take a heavy toll on the civilian population, with many still missing or presumed dead under the rubble.
