The Founder and CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, has revealed plans for cheaper transportation with Compressed Natural Gas-powered buses. Following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, Chukwuma emphasized the benefits of CNG and expressed support for the Presidential CNG Initiative.
Chukwuma praised the government’s focus on CNG, stating that it is the way forward for Nigeria. He shared his early recognition of the benefits of CNG, leading to the production of CNG-fueled vehicles at his factory.
President Tinubu’s recent nationwide broadcast highlighted the CNG initiative, aiming to distribute a million kits to commercial vehicles. He emphasized the shift from oil-based petrol to utilizing the country’s gas resources, projecting significant savings for the economy.
The initiative, expected to save N2 trillion monthly, will redirect resources towards healthcare and education. Tinubu affirmed the importance of leveraging gas resources for sustainable growth and reduced costs in transportation.
With the impending rollout of CNG buses, Nigerians can anticipate a more affordable and sustainable mode of transportation. Stay tuned for further updates on this transformative initiative.
