Israeli Army’s Use of Human Shields Revealed by Palestinian Detainee
A recently released Palestinian detainee, Mohammed Abdel Fattah Saad, disclosed that the Israeli army used him and others as human shields during military operations. They were forced to enter homes and inspect destroyed vehicles with surveillance cameras attached to their bodies.
Saad described being beaten and tortured inside Israeli prisons, where detainees were deprived of water and subjected to inhumane treatment. After spending 45 days in prison, he returned to Gaza with signs of torture and medical neglect.
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza, thousands of civilians have been detained, including women, children, and health workers. The army’s offensive has resulted in the deaths of nearly 40,000 Palestinians and over 91,700 injuries, mostly women and children.
Israel faces international condemnation for its brutal offensive and has been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. The army’s actions have left Gaza in ruins, with a severe blockade on essential resources like food, water, and medicine.
Despite a UN resolution calling for a cease-fire, Israel continues its aggressive campaign against Gaza, leading to widespread devastation and loss of life.
