Female politicians vow to never be pushed over by men as they persist in fighting for equality.

In 1956, a significant event took place in Pretoria, where thousands of brave women marched to the Union Buildings to protest against apartheid laws. These women paved the way for future generations to continue the fight for gender equality. Today, women like Helen Zille, Patricia de Lille, and Aishah Cassiem are carrying on this important work by advocating for more female leaders in politics.

News24 recently had the privilege of speaking to these three influential politicians about the unique challenges that women face in the political arena. Despite the progress that has been made, there is still work to be done to ensure that women have equal representation and opportunities in leadership roles.

The inspiring stories of these women serve as a reminder that the fight for equality is ongoing and that each of us has a role to play in creating a more inclusive and diverse society. Let us continue to support and uplift women in politics and beyond, for a brighter and more equitable future for all.
