The government of Cyprus has denied reports circulating on social media alleging its involvement in conflicts in the Middle East.
Refuting the claims, government spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis clarified that Cyprus is not engaged in military operations or conflicts but provides humanitarian assistance and aids evacuations.
Recent social media posts suggesting Cypriot military involvement prompted tension between the government and opposition, with AKEL urging caution due to risks posed by foreign military presence on the island.
In response, Letymbiotis emphasized Cyprus’ international humanitarian role and cautioned against false views that could harm the country’s reputation.
