Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem Strikes Gold at Paris Olympics 2024!
Arshad Nadeem made history by clinching Pakistan’s first individual gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. His record-breaking javelin throw of 92.97 meters not only secured the gold but also ended the country’s 32-year medal drought at the Olympics.
The ceremony, held at the Champions Park near the iconic Eiffel Tower, saw Nadeem surpassing previous records and setting a new Olympic record. Despite a shaky start, his remarkable recovery in the second attempt sealed the deal.
India’s Neeraj Chopra and Anderson Peters of Grenada claimed the silver and bronze medals respectively. Following his victory, Nadeem expressed his confidence in winning the gold and his desire to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day with the prestigious medal.
The Punjab government announced a reward of Rs100 million, while Sindh government pledged Rs50 million for the star athlete. Additionally, the National Assembly passed a resolution to confer a civil award on Nadeem, recognizing his extraordinary accomplishment in javelin throw.
