Argentine Government Lifts Operational Restrictions from Buenos Aires’ Aeroparque

Aeroparque is the second-busiest air terminal in Argentina

The Argentine government, under President Javier Milei, has implemented new measures to expand the open skies policies at Buenos Aires’ Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP/SABE) airport.

This move, outlined in the National Civil Aviation Administration (Anac) Resolution 240/2024, will allow Aeroparque to increase operations by removing the 200-passenger limit on narrow-body aircraft and permitting flights with stopovers in countries other than the airline’s origin.

The aim is to boost international traffic, increase passenger numbers, and enhance the airport’s role as a key hub for domestic and regional flights. The recent open skies agreements with neighboring countries further support this expansion.

While the lifting of restrictions signals a push towards operational freedom, airlines are still required to secure operating slots at Aeroparque.
