The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, believes that Nigeria’s prosperity lies in harnessing its gas resources. During a visit to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Ekpo emphasized the importance of utilizing Nigeria’s vast natural gas reserves to drive economic development.
Ekpo highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support for the gas sector and outlined key initiatives his ministry is pursuing, including investments in critical gas infrastructure, promotion of domestic gas utilization, and supporting gas-to-power projects for reliable electricity supply. He also stressed the need to strengthen policy frameworks to attract investment and innovation in the gas sector.
Ekpo commended the NCDMB for promoting local content and suggested a focus on Compressed Natural Gas projects to impact transportation and living costs positively. He praised the NCDMB for its progress and the construction of its 17-storey headquarters building as a symbol of local capacity growth.
