Maduro updates number of terrorists arrested to 2,229
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro provided an update on Tuesday regarding the number of arrests made in response to protests following his reelection for the 2025-2031 term. He announced that 2,229 “terrorists” had been captured with evidence. Additionally, he stated that they would be transferred to the Tocorón and Tocuyito prisons.
Maduro condemned the actions of the protesters, describing them as individuals who committed violent acts like murder and arson. He urged those opposing the government to stop hating and to respect the majority of Venezuelans who desire peace.
The Chavist regime reported injuries to police officers and military personnel, as well as civilian casualties during the protests. Opposition leaders called for support from the military and police to uphold what they claim is the true election outcome.
